The Forensic Group

The Forensic Group was established in New Zealand by Dr Anna Sandiford, a Senior Forensic Science Consultant with many years’ experience in New Zealand and overseas. The company has now grown through consultants with years of experience and training all over the globe and a huge network of national and international, qualified experts. This extensive group of experts and scientists is at the core of The Forensic Group and enables us to provide you with probably the most comprehensive range of independent forensic science skills available in New Zealand – and it is still evolving: the more casework we undertake, the more top-class experts we meet whose skills we can then provide to our clients.
Our work and experience
The Forensic Group has a proven record in forensic casework review with our experts having worked on drink driving cases through to historical murder reviews.  Our international consultants have been involved in work on war crimes cases in central Europe and the Middle East; national cases include work on the murders of Harvey and Jeanette Crewe, the Auckland Mt Wellington-Panmure RSA killings, the Kahui twins case, the 2009 David Bain retrial, the review into the murder of Susan Burdett and Teina Pora’s related conviction and the 2015 retrial of Mark Lundy.
Collectively, we have many years’ experience in science and forensic science, both nationally and internationally, and have gained considerable knowledge of the forensic arena in the adversarial system. This enables us to suggest the right experts for each case from the very best we know.
